I am sure that you have heard church people say the following many, many times: “What Satan means for evil – God will turn to good.” Did you know that this statement is not found anywhere in the Bible! It is simply a paraphrase taken from a statement that Joseph said to his brothers after they had sold him into slavery. The amazing part of it all is after all his brothers had done to him – he was quick to forgive!
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.” Genesis 50:20-22 (NIV)
We can certainly learn from this example – it is something to think about!
